We engineer virtual test environments for safety-critical control software

Integration problems surface early, while a correction takes hours rather than months. And because every run is automated and traceable, the evidence needed for certification exists long before the system does.

Inside each environment is a functional twin: a logic simulation of the controller’s operating environment, assembled from the customer’s own documentation with ELMo®, Tritem’s proprietary modelling software. The customer’s real production controller runs inside it, unmodified, through every function and situation, before the physical system is built.

Railway​

Control software needs a train to talk to. Tritem builds the train in software: a functional twin of the subsystems, buses, failure modes and national variants the TCMS and subsystem controllers face, assembled from the manufacturer’s own schematics. The production controller runs inside it, unmodified. Integration problems surface in the laboratory instead of on the test ring, commissioning shrinks from weeks to days, and every run produces the traceable evidence the safety case and certification depend on, for the life of the fleet.

Space

An on-board system cannot be serviced once it is in orbit. Everything the control software will meet in flight has to be met in the laboratory first, including the subsystems that do not physically exist until integration. Tritem builds that environment: a functional twin of the buses, subsystems and failure modes the on-board controllers talk to, assembled from the prime’s own documentation, with the real controller running inside it, unmodified. Every run produces the structured, traceable evidence qualification and ISVV activities depend on.
