Certainty.

Engineered.

A simple test bench gives you access to signals. A functional twin gives the control system a world to be wrong about.

EN 50716 ⋅ IEC 61513 ⋅ ECSS ⋅  MIL-STD-882E

We engineer virtual test environments for safety-critical control software

Integration problems surface early, while a correction takes hours rather than months. And because every run is automated and traceable, the evidence needed for certification exists long before the system does.

Inside each environment is a functional twin: a logic simulation of the controller’s operating environment, assembled from the customer’s own documentation with ELMo®, Tritem’s proprietary modelling software. The customer’s real production controller runs inside it, unmodified, through every function and situation, before the physical system is built.

01 ⋅ About Tritem

Control software meets the real system late.

That is physics, not planning.

A train takes years to build. A power plant cannot be taken offline for a test run. An on-board system cannot be serviced once it is in orbit. In each case, the control software encounters the system it will govern only late in the programme: after the subsystems have been delivered, after the schedule has been committed, and after corrections have become expensive. The evidence that certification requires is assembled within the same window, under the same pressure.

Tritem brings that encounter forward. Tritem engineers virtual test environments for complex, safety-critical control systems. At the centre of each environment is a functional twin: a logic simulation of the controller’s operating environment, from subsystems and communication buses to failure modes and variants. Not the physical world around the machine, but the system the controller has to work with. The production controller runs inside it, unmodified, as though the finished system already existed.

Some customers have worked with the same Tritem engineers for fifteen years, and several treat Tritem as an extension of their own organisation. More than 65 engineers in Germany and Poland, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified, and more than 120 projects delivered in rail alone.

The evidence exist before system does.

02 ⋅ THE TRITEM PLATFORM

The system exists in the lab first.

In a perfect world, control software would meet the system it governs on day one, every problem would be found while it is still simple to correct, and the evidence certification requires would be a by-product of the work rather than a separate effort at the end. The Tritem platform is built to make that the normal case. delivered, after the schedule has been committed, and after corrections have become expensive. The evidence that certification requires is assembled within the same window, under the same pressure.

Tritem’s engineers assemble the platform’s building blocks into a virtual test environment for one product platform, configure it across the product’s variants, and integrate the components the customer already owns. The customer gets a working capability rather than a toolbox: a functional twin of the controller’s operating environment, the real production controller running inside it, campaigns that run automated and unattended on every change, and structured evidence from every run.

01 ⋅ T-XiL

Virtual Test Environments

A complete HiL, SiL or MiL environment engineered around the customer’s real or virtualised controller and delivered as a working capability, so that control software can be exercised at system level long before the physical system exists.

02 · MODELS

Functional twin models

A logic simulation of the subsystems, communication buses, failure modes and variants the controller has to work with, built from the customer’s own schematics, requirements and supplier documentation. Variant-aware and reusable across every release.

03 · ELMO®

Electromechanical modelling

Tritem’s proprietary modelling software reads electrical schematics and generates a substantial part of the simulation environment semi-automatically, drawing on a library of models proven on earlier programmes. AI agents draft and review models; a Tritem engineer signs off each one.

04 · GISMO®

Simulation engine

Tritem’s proprietary simulation engine for the logic that is only described in functional requirements and interface specifications, so the functional twin covers what the schematic cannot show. Proven in more than a hundred test benches worldwide.

05 · AUTOMATION

Test automation framework

Runs campaigns automated and unattended, repeats them on every change, and records every result with full traceability: which test, which release, which variant, which bench, which outcome. The evidence exists from the first run.

06 · HARDWARE

Test benches and hadrware

Tritem designs and builds its own laboratory test benches and the interface hardware around them, engineered together with the twin and the automation framework, so each environment is end-to-end rather than a collection of components.
